i In short
We source every figure from the body that publishes it, name the writer and the reviewer on every page, take no payment for coverage, and correct errors in the open.

1How We Decide What to Cover
1.1. We write about what South African traders and investors search for, not what is easiest to rank for. A question earns a page when people are asking it and the answers already available are wrong, out of date, or written for a different country.
1.2. Where a topic is covered well by the body that governs it, we link to that source rather than restating it. Our value is in explaining what a rule means in practice, not in copying the rule.
2Where Our Figures Come From
2.1. Every statutory figure comes from the body that publishes it: the South African Revenue Service for tax, the South African Reserve Bank for interest rates, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority for licensing, Statistics South Africa for economic data, and the JSE for market structure.
2.2. Each reference page carries the date its figures were last checked and links to the source for every table. We do not take a figure from another website without going to the original.
2.3. Where a figure has changed, the page shows both the current value and what it replaced, so a reader arriving with an older number can see what moved.
3How We Handle Corrections
3.1. When we find an error we correct it and update the review date on the page. A material correction to a figure or a rule is noted rather than made silently.
3.2. If you believe something here is wrong, tell us through the contact page. We check the claim against its primary source and correct the page if it does not hold. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.
3.3. We do not remove a correction notice once it has been made.
4Independence
4.1. We take no payment for editorial coverage, and no payment to include, exclude, rank or rate any broker or financial product.
4.2. Where a link to a broker appears, it is because the page is about that broker. No advertiser sees a page before publication, and no third party writes or approves content here.
4.3. The site carries no advertising. It is funded by its owner, as set out on the About page.
5Who Writes and Reviews
5.1. Every page names the person who wrote it and the person who reviewed it. Both have profile pages setting out their background and what they cover.
5.2. Content dealing with tax, regulation or a statutory figure is reviewed by someone other than the writer before publication.
6Use of AI Tools
6.1. Drafting and research tools are used in production. Every page is reviewed by a named person before it is published, and every statutory figure is checked against its primary source by hand.
6.2. Responsibility for what appears on this site rests with us, not with a tool.
7Keeping Pages Current
7.1. Reference pages are checked when the figure behind them changes: for tax that means each national budget, and for interest rates each Monetary Policy Committee decision.
7.2. Articles are reviewed when the rules they describe change. The review date at the top of a page is the date it was last checked, not the date it was first published.
8What We Do Not Do
8.1. We do not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and we make no recommendation about what any reader should buy, sell or hold.
8.2. We explain how things work and what the rules are, and we say plainly when a question needs a licensed professional. The Disclaimer sets out the full position.
