i In short

A forex calculator widget is rarely one calculator. A page about risk needs lot size and pip value. A page about leverage needs margin and effective leverage. A page about holding trades overnight needs swap. Publishers who try to cover all of that with a single generic tool usually end up with something that does none of the jobs well, so this section treats each calculation as its own widget and lets you embed only the ones a given page actually calls for.

Every widget in the set shares the same shell, the same customisation parameters and the same one-line embed pattern, so once you have placed one you know how to place the rest. The demo below is the lot size calculator, which is the one most forex pages need first, and the full list of forex widgets is directly underneath it.

All of them run client side. There is no API key to obtain, no rate limit to run into, no account to create and nothing about your readers is recorded. For a publisher that means no new entry in your privacy policy and no dependency that can start charging you later.

The calculations assume nothing about where your reader sits. Account currency is selectable rather than fixed to the dollar, the rand crosses are treated as first-class pairs rather than exotics, and the conversion steps are shown in the breakdown so a reader can verify the result instead of taking it on trust.

Embed code

Copy this into your page

Free for any site, including commercial ones. Keep the small credit line at the bottom of the widget so readers can find the full version. Nothing is stored about the people who use it. See the disclaimer.

How to add it to your site

  1. Copy the code above Use the copy button so nothing is lost to line wrapping. It is a single iframe tag and it does not need anything else.
  2. Open the page you want it on In WordPress add a Custom HTML block, in Wix use the Embed HTML element, in Squarespace use a Code block, and on a hand-built site paste it straight into your HTML.
  3. Paste and publish The widget appears immediately. If you see an empty space instead, your editor has stripped the iframe tag, which the HTML embed guide explains how to work around.
  4. Adjust the look if you want to Add the parameters in the table below to the iframe URL to change the theme, the accent colour or the height. Nothing needs to be configured on our side.

Customisation options

ParameterValuesWhat it does
themeauto, light, darkDefault follows the reader's own system setting, so the widget looks right on a dark site and a light one without you choosing.
accentSix hex digits, e.g. accent=1A56DBRecolours the header bar and the primary button to match your brand.
header1 or 0Set to 0 to hide the title bar when your page already has a heading above the widget.
breakdown1 or 0Set to 0 to hide the calculation breakdown for a more compact block.
corners1 or 0Set to 0 for square corners if your design has no rounding anywhere else.
widthfullRemoves the 520px maximum so the widget stretches to its container.

Parameters are added to the iframe URL as a normal query string, for example /embed/position-size-calculator.html?theme=dark&accent=1A56DB&header=0. The widget builder lets you set all of them visually and hands you the finished code.

What the widget calculates

The lot size widget shown here converts a cash risk amount and a stop distance into the correct number of standard, mini or micro lots. It is the calculation that sits between a risk rule and an order ticket, and getting it wrong is the most common reason a trader's actual loss does not match the loss they planned.

The wider set covers pip value, required margin, effective leverage, swap and rollover cost, cross rates, spread cost in rand, break-even price after costs, and the risk-to-reward ratio implied by an entry, stop and target. Each has its own widget page with its own embed code.

Who this widget suits

Forex blogs and magazines

Match the widget to the article rather than dropping the same generic calculator onto every page.

Broker and affiliate sites

A working tool set gives a comparison page something to offer beyond a table of spreads.

Trading courses

Embed the specific calculator that belongs to each module, so the tool reinforces the lesson instead of distracting from it.

Frequently asked questions

Which forex calculator widget should I embed first?

If the page is about risk, use lot size or position size. If it is about costs, use spread cost or swap. If it is a general introduction to forex, pip value tends to be the one readers actually use, because pips are mentioned everywhere and rarely explained in money terms.

There is no penalty for embedding more than one on a page, but two calculators competing for attention usually means neither gets used. One per page, matched to the topic, works better.

Can I embed several widgets on the same page?

Yes. Each iframe is independent and they do not interfere with one another. Give each one its own fixed height or leave the auto-resize enabled and they will size themselves. Be aware of the cumulative weight if you are placing four or five on one page.

Is there an API instead of an iframe?

Not at the moment. The widgets are static HTML files served directly, which is what keeps them free, fast and free of tracking. If you need the underlying calculations in your own code, they are all standard published formulas and each widget page explains the maths in full.

Do the forex widgets use live exchange rates?

The calculators do not, because they are deterministic tools where the reader supplies the inputs. If you want live numbers on the page, the forex rates widget and the live quotes widget pull current reference rates from a public source.

Can I white-label the widgets?

You can set the accent colour and hide the title bar, which gets most of the way to matching your design. The credit line at the bottom stays, since that is the condition of free use. Full white-labelling is not available.

Are the formulas documented anywhere?

Each calculator's full page shows the complete breakdown of the calculation, and the wider site explains the underlying concepts in depth. Start with position sizing, pips and margin.
